Job summary

Norconsult Telematics seeks a Lead Core Network Architect to drive architecture and design across IP/MPLS, DWDM/OTN, IGW, and submarine connectivity. You will develop scalable, resilient network designs, review HLD/LLD, and guide multi‑vendor deployments from concept through implementation.

You will lead topology studies, routing optimization, and backbone evolution, ensuring alignment with telecom standards and long‑term strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in telecommunications or related field.
• 10–15 years in telecom core network design or transport engineering.
• Strong expertise in IP/MPLS, DWDM/OTN, IGW, and submarine cable integration.
• Hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, IS‑IS, MPLS‑TE, EVPN, QoS, multicast, VPNs.
• Certified professionals (CCNP/CCIE/JNCIP) considered an advantage.
• Leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and detailed design for IP/MPLS Core, DWDM Transport, IGW, and Landing Station domains.
• Develop and review HLDs/LLDs, topology diagrams, and integration designs.
• Define standards, resiliency models, redundancy mechanisms, and routing frameworks.
• Conduct topology studies, traffic analysis, routing optimization, and backbone scalability assessments.
• Review changes, migrations, and integration models.
• Lead DWDM/OTN architecture design and backbone evolution planning.
• Validate vendor solutions, technical submissions, and compliance matrices.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams during design and implementation.
