Job summary

Nathan & Nathan Human Resources seeks a Senior Accountant in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. You will create and document high volumes of journal entries, defend analyses, and serve as a main contact for external auditors, preparing schedules and resolving routine issues.

You will oversee month-end close, reconcile P&L and balance sheet accounts, ensure statutory reporting and tax compliance, and coordinate across departments to produce timely financial data for management and auditors.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience in a multinational organization or biotech/pharma environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and accounting policies.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and may supervise accounting sub-function and prepares reports/statistics of financial results.
  • Coordinates schedules, activities and reports with other departments.
  • Maintains operating procedures within internal controls and company policies.
  • Prepares timely journal entries for month-end closes with supporting documentation.
  • Reconciles and resolves P&L and balance sheet ledger accounts.
  • Manages statutory and corporate tax reporting (VAT/WHT) and cash flow forecasts.
  • Generates analyses and schedules for local management and auditors.
  • Interacts with peers, external auditors, and management at various levels.
  • Trains employees on accounting software and tools as needed.
  • Owns accounting processes supporting balance sheet accruals and reclassifications.

Senior Accountant

Location: Saudi Arabia - Riyadh

Job Profile:

  • Effectively creates and documents a high volume of journal entries with minimal errors and review by supervisors.
  • Appropriately discusses and defends work and analyses.
  • Will serve as a point of contact to external auditors and other personnel, preparing analyses and schedules, addressing questions, and applying knowledge to resolve routine problems.
  • Interacts with peers in other Functions to gather information for analyses and disseminate accounting information.
  • Serves as a technical resource to more junior employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs and possibly supervises accounting sub-function and preparation of reports and statistics detailing financial results.
  • Coordinates schedules, activities and reports with other departments.
  • Establishes and maintains operating procedures within the context of existing internal controls and company policies.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of journal entries (with appropriate supporting documentation) for the month-end close and accounting transactions.
  • Maintains, reconciles and resolves P&L and balance sheet ledger accounts.
  • Manage the reporting requirements for statutory and corporate compliance, e.g VAT/WHT, and cash Flow forecast etc.
  • Responsible for preparing analysis and schedules for local management as well as internal and external auditors.
  • Frequently interacts with peers, outside customers, external auditors and functional group members at various management levels.
  • May be asked to train employees in other functions on the proper use of accounting software and tools.
  • Ownership of the accounting processes to support balance sheet accruals, provisions, allocations, reclassifications, and other accounting transactions
  • Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations or providing technical information concerning specific projects.
  • Ad hoc analyses as needed

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in a comparable multi-national organization, with biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience is strongly preferred
  • CPA or equivalent qualifications will be plus.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting policies and procedures.
  • Prior experience in a comparable organization, with responsibility for such processes as financial reporting, tax, AR/Credit, A/P, etc
  • Strong knowledge of integrated Enterprise systems, ideally SAP, and proficiency with Microsoft tools
  • Experience in a comparable multi-national organization, with biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience is strongly preferred
