Job summary

WSP seeks an experienced Resident Engineer to lead the supervision of a major buildings project in Jeddah. You will act as the client’s on-site representative, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and the highest quality standards.

You will manage the on-site supervision team across architectural, structural, and MEP works, coordinate with design teams, and ensure compliance with local authorities and project QA/QC procedures. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience supervising major buildings projects.
  • Proven ability to manage contractors and resolve site issues.
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC, and contract administration processes.
  • Experience with Saudi building codes and local authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day site supervision activities for architectural, structural, and MEP works.
  • Ensure construction is executed per drawings, specs, and project standards.
  • Manage and guide the supervision team (discipline engineers, inspectors, QS, HSE).
  • Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and RFIs.
  • Monitor contractor progress, identify delays, and support mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, quality audits, and safety walks.
  • Chair weekly progress meetings and prepare reports for the client.
  • Coordinate with design teams to resolve technical issues and implement design changes.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover activities.

We are seeking an experienced Resident Engineer (RE) to lead and oversee the supervision of a major buildings project in Jeddah The role requires strong technical leadership, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to manage contractors, resolve site issues, and ensure full compliance with design, specifications, and Saudi building codes.

You will act as the client’s on‑site representative, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
  • 20+ years of experience, with at least 5 years in a Resident Engineer or Senior Supervision role.
  • Strong background in buildings projects (residential, commercial, mixed‑use, or institutional).
  • Proven experience working with engineering consultancies in the GCC; Saudi experience preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction supervision, QA/QC, and contract administration.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Familiarity with local authorities.
  • Membership in a professional engineering body is an advantage.
