Summary

VES is looking for a QHSE Supervisor to join our team in Damman, Saudi Arabia.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Identifies QHSE initiatives and designs and evaluates metrics that drive performance throughout the organization. Develops and communicates the process for the annual review of QHSE performance. Analyzes incident and injury/illness data and adjusts the focus to address areas of concern.
  • Implements, maintains, and ensures conformance to the Quality Management System in all areas of the company.
  • Communicates overall improvement priorities across the organization. Provides the status of current projects, results to date, and recognition for top performers regularly. Strives to build positive momentum, foster healthy competition, and demonstrate that QHSE is about generating results for everyone – the Company, its customers, employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Participates in standard incident investigations. Ensures complete investigation of severe incidents and injuries and prepares material and evidence for the organization’s use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
  • Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or provides oversight for internal and vendor audits.
  • Compiles, consolidates, summarizes, and submits reports required by management and regulatory agencies.
  • Verifies conformance to the QMS and compliance with all HSSE regulations and ensures all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines. Issues corrective actions as required. Develops tools to improve and support HSSE reporting requirements.
  • Holds management reviews of corrective actions, evaluates against benchmarks, and develops, communicates, and executes action plans for improvement. Analyzes conformance and compliance data on an ongoing basis and develops recovery plans as needed.
  • Works with Operations and HR to identify training needs and to link training plans with the needs of the organization. Develops, implements, and manages safety programs and employee training on quality, safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Manages the participation in all required environment, health, and safety inspections. Provides inspectors with appropriate documents and identifies safety measures.
  • Monitors the safe and effective removal of physical, biological, and chemical hazards.
  • Develops and implements procedures to improve EHS performance. Keeps abreast of changes to laws and regulations and ensures that the changes are incorporated into policies and procedures. Ensures that EHS policy and procedure manuals are available and current.

  • Work effectively and diplomatically with all levels of the organization and within a multi‑cultural environment.
  • Persuasively influence outcomes and influence others to accept practices and approaches.
  • Show proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and with an EHS system.
  • Comprehend and communicate accurately, clearly, and concisely in English. Spanish and French a plus.
Education & Knowledge (regional equivalent accepted)
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, HSSE, Business, or a related field.
  • Recognized safety and/or environmental management certifications (e.g., CSP, NEBOSH, OHST) preferred. ASQ certification in quality management is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant HSSE procedures and regulations. Knowledge of appropriate KPI’s, leading and lagging indicators and use of to manage HSSE.
  • Knowledge and applications experience with ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within oil & gas manufacturing and services preferred.
  • Sound understanding of business linkages and the ramifications that decisions can have.
Work Experience
  • Typically, at least ten years of progressively more responsible experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least three years of leadership experience. Experience in a similar industry is desired.
