Job summary

Maarif Education in Riyadh is seeking a dedicated school psychologist to support students of all ages with social, emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges, and to provide therapy sessions as needed.

You will conduct evaluations, deliver individual and group counseling, collaborate with teachers and caregivers, report progress, and refer students to community services when appropriate to promote mental health and academic success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in a similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Conducts individual and group evaluations and diagnoses of learning, behavior and/or adjustment problems.
• Provides guidance and assistance to students with learning, behavior and/or adjustment problems.
• Creates a safe and accepting environment for students to express their needs.
• Communicates effectively with teachers, school staff, administrators and caregivers to support mental and emotional health.
• Uses assessment and data collection to implement and evaluate services and programs that support social skill development and mental health.
• Develops and implements practices to maintain positive learning environments and school climate.
• Evaluates and applies research to improve service delivery and collaborates on data collection and analysis.
• Provides consultation to administrators, teachers, and parents regarding educational programs.
• Evaluates and reports on student progress using psychometric tools.
• Refers students to community services when needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conducts individual and group evaluations and diagnoses of learning, behavior and/or adjustment problems of students at school.
• Provides guidance and assistance to students with learning, behavior and/or adjustment problems.
• Creating a safe and accepting environment in which students feel comfortable expressing their needs.
• Effectively communicating with students’ teachers, school staff, district administrators and children’s caregivers to meet student’s mental and emotional health needs.
• Use assessment and data collection methods to implement and evaluate services and programs that support social skill development, learning, and mental and behavioral health, through individual and group counseling, as well as school-wide training.
• Develop and implement practices and strategies to create and maintain effective, safe, and supportive learning environments and school climate for all students, including positive behavior intervention and supports.
• Evaluate and apply research as a foundation of service delivery, and in collaboration with others, use varied techniques and technological resources for data collection, measurement, and analysis to support effective practices at the individual, group and school level.
• Provides consultation and advisement to administrators, teachers, and parents regarding the general and special educational programs, as appropriate.
• Evaluate and report on student progress (e.g. using psychometric tests).
• Refer students to community services if needed.
