- a. SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) and WI (Work Instruction) Drafting & Reading.

- c. RCA (Root Cause Analysis) / CAPA (Corrective Action & Preventive Action) Methodology.
- d. Standards as per Quality Assurance Plan (ISO/ASTM) related to Welding activities.
- e. Reading and Interpretation of Engineering Drawings.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Chemical or production or industrial Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years in powder coating operations (preferably in metal fabrication/fence manufacturing).
- Hands‑on experience with powder spray systems (e.g., Wagner, Gema) and curing ovens.
- Familiarity with PLC-controlled conveyors and burner management systems.
- Technical Skills: Troubleshooting electrostatic guns, recovery systems, and pneumatic controls.
- Reading electrical schematics and P&IDs for powder coating lines.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC (for booth airflow balance) and paint chemistry.
Detailed Job Description (Critical Activities)
1. Production & Process Management
- Oversee the powder coating process (pre‑treatment, spraying, curing) to ensure consistent quality and adhesion.
- Monitor oven temperature profiles, conveyor speed, and gun settings to meet specifications.
- Adjust electrostatic application parameters (kV, powder flow) for optimal coverage and minimal waste.
- Conduct first‑piece inspections and periodic quality checks to prevent defects (orange peel, thin coating, etc.).
2. Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform preventive maintenance on powder coating booths, guns, recovery systems, and curing ovens.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical/mechanical issues (e.g., gun clogging, conveyor jams, burner failures).
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain spare parts inventory for critical components (nozzles, filters, heating elements).
3. Safety & Compliance
- Enforce explosion‑proof electrical standards (NEC Class II, Division 1) in the coating area.
- Ensure proper grounding of equipment to prevent static discharge risks.
- Monitor ventilation and dust collection systems to meet OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Conduct safety briefings for operators on PPE, chemical handling, and LOTO procedures.
- Supervise and train powder coating operators on best practices and troubleshooting.
- Document shift logs (production output, downtime causes, maintenance actions).
- Report quality deviations and implement corrective actions (e.g., rework, process adjustments).
