Job summary

KAPSARC School of Public Policy (KSPP) seeks a Student Counselor to provide confidential counseling and wellbeing support to postgraduate students, aiding academic success, adjustment, and retention.

The role includes individual and group sessions, initial assessments, referrals to internal or external services, and developing preventive wellbeing programs while upholding ethics and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with a Master’s in Counseling or a related field.
• Master’s degree is preferred; PhD is optional for the role.
• Professional classification and registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) or eligibility to obtain it.
• Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide confidential individual counseling to postgraduate students addressing academic stress and wellbeing.
• Conduct initial assessments of student needs and develop practical, time-bound support plans.
• Provide limited group counseling or group support sessions when appropriate.
• Support students through key postgraduate milestones, including examinations and theses.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality while following ethics and institutional policies.
• Design and deliver wellbeing workshops and awareness sessions for postgraduate students.
