Job summary

Norconsult Telematics Limited is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to design, deploy and manage Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform environments across bare-metal and virtualized infrastructure. You will ensure availability, scalability, security and operational stability while coordinating with security, network and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in platform engineering or similar roles, with strong hands-on OpenShift experience.
• Strong knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and Kubernetes concepts.
• Experience in Linux system administration and container technologies.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, load balancing, DNS, firewalls and ingress configuration.
• Understanding of storage concepts with SAN, NFS and Ceph/OpenShift Data Foundation.
• Scripting and automation with Ansible, GitOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex platform and infrastructure issues.

Position Objective

Design, deploy and manage Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform environments to ensure availability, scalability, security and operational stability. Support platform automation and lifecycle management while collaborating with internal teams and vendors to meet business and application requirements.

Job Description & Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure and maintain OpenShift environments across bare-metal and virtualised infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform and infrastructure issues to maintain performance and stability.
• Manage the cluster lifecycle, including capacity planning, upgrades, patching, scaling and decommissioning.
• Implement and maintain high availability, scalability and security across OpenShift environments.
• Automate platform provisioning and operations using Ansible, GitOps with Argo CD, and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Integrate OpenShift with load balancers, MetalLB, ingress, DNS, firewalls and storage solutions, including SAN, NFS and Ceph/OpenShift Data Foundation.
• Implement security and compliance controls, including role-based access control, identity and access management, image security, vulnerability scanning and secrets management.
• Collaborate with application, security, network and infrastructure teams to support application onboarding and ongoing operations.
• Monitor cluster health and performance using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk and ELK, and respond to incidents.
• Maintain architecture documentation, operational procedures, runbooks and platform best practices.
• Coordinate with vendors and provide technical guidance to engineering, application, operations and support teams.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.

• Strong communication, technical documentation and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
