Job summary

Foodics is seeking a Lead Engineer for Foodics Financial Services in Saudi Arabia. You will own end-to-end problems, design scalable backend services and data models, and build robust frontends.

The role emphasizes an AI-first approach, driving architectural decisions and mentoring a growing team. You will collaborate with Product, Design, Risk, and Compliance to shape what we build, ensuring security, reliability, and performance in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Genuine full-stack ability: backend, data, and frontend.
• A product mindset focused on user and business outcomes.
• Technology-agnostic across languages and stacks.
• AI-first habits with AI tools and LLM APIs.
• Strong systems thinking: distributed systems, APIs, databases.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own problems end to end from discovery through design, build, launch, and iteration across backend, APIs, data, and frontend.
• Identify gaps that hinder scale and drive fixes even when not explicitly requested.
• Shape product direction with Product, Design, Risk, and Compliance; defend rationale with data.
• Set the technical bar for systems handling real money: idempotency, consistency, auditability, security, observability.
• Lead the AI-first shift by adopting AI tools and agents and integrating them into products and workflows.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers to raise design and code quality; uplift the team.
• Evaluate and select languages, frameworks, and platforms based on problem requirements.
