Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation at Miraval The Red Sea is seeking a Landscaping Manager to preserve and enhance our resort environments. Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in a managerial or supervisory leadership role.
  • Experience managing irrigation systems and landscape maintenance programs.
  • Experience in arid climate landscaping is highly desirable.
  • Previous Hyatt or luxury hospitality experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of all landscaped areas, gardens, lawns, trees, shrubs, and ornamental plants across the resort.
  • Develop and implement preventive landscape maintenance schedules for healthy, visually appealing spaces.
  • Monitor plant health and landscape condition and initiate timely improvements.
  • Ensure pathways, meditation gardens, outdoor wellness areas, and external landscapes are immaculate.
  • Coordinate seasonal planting, pruning, fertilization, pest control, and landscape projects.
  • Oversee irrigation systems and support water conservation initiatives.
  • Lead and develop the landscaping team, schedule work, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Manage budgets, monitor costs, and forecast expenditures.
  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors to ensure Hyatt Miraval quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Hyatt policies and environmental regulations.

The Landscaping Manager is responsible for preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of Miraval The Red Sea through the planning, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all landscaped areas across the resort. This role ensures that gardens, outdoor spaces, pathways, wellness environments, and surrounding landscapes reflect Miraval's commitment to mindfulness, sustainability, and exceptional guest experiences.

The Landscaping Manager leads the landscaping team, oversees horticultural operations, irrigation systems, seasonal planting programs, and landscape contractors while ensuring compliance with environmental standards, sustainability initiatives, and luxury hospitality expectations.

Key Responsibilities
Landscape Operations
  • Manage the daily operations of all landscaped areas, gardens, lawns, trees, shrubs, and ornamental plants throughout the resort.
  • Develop and implement preventive landscape maintenance schedules to ensure healthy and visually appealing outdoor spaces.
  • Monitor the condition of plants and landscapes, identifying opportunities for improvement and timely corrective action.
  • Ensure pathways, meditation gardens, outdoor wellness areas, arrival experience, villas, public spaces, and back-of-house landscapes remain immaculate.
  • Coordinate seasonal planting, pruning, fertilization, pest control, and landscape enhancement projects.
  • Ensure irrigation systems operate efficiently and support water conservation initiatives.
Leadership
  • Lead, coach, motivate, and develop the landscaping team through regular training and performance management.
  • Prepare work schedules and allocate resources to meet operational priorities.
  • Conduct daily briefings and ensure colleagues understand departmental objectives and safety requirements.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship
  • Support Miraval's sustainability initiatives by promoting environmentally responsible landscaping practices.
  • Optimize water usage through efficient irrigation management and drought-tolerant planting where appropriate.
  • Reduce waste through composting, recycling green waste, and responsible use of fertilizers and chemicals.
  • Collaborate with the resort Green Team and other departments on environmental initiatives.
Guest Experience
  • Ensure outdoor environments consistently deliver a tranquil, wellness-focused, and luxurious guest experience.
  • Respond promptly to guest concerns relating to landscaping and outdoor environments.
  • Work closely with Rooms, Spa, Wellness, Recreation, Food & Beverage, and Events teams to support guest activities and special functions.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets.
  • Monitor landscaping expenses and control operating costs without compromising quality.
  • Forecast plant replacement, equipment requirements, and seasonal maintenance expenditures.
  • Manage inventory of landscaping materials, tools, fertilizers, and equipment.
  • Manage landscape contractors and specialist vendors.
  • Evaluate contractor performance and ensure work meets Hyatt and Miraval quality standards.
  • Source plants, materials, and equipment from approved suppliers while maintaining cost efficiency.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Hyatt policies, local regulations, environmental legislation, and occupational health & safety standards.
  • Maintain safe operation of landscaping equipment and machinery.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of fertilizers, pesticides, and hazardous materials.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
Administration
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, landscape inventories, irrigation schedules, and equipment logs.
  • Prepare monthly reports on landscaping performance, sustainability initiatives, water consumption, and budget status.
  • Participate in CAPEX planning for landscape improvement projects.
Qualifications
