Job summary

Tangent International is seeking an experienced L2 Middleware Engineer to support middleware and integration platforms within a telecom BSS managed services environment. The role focuses on ensuring smooth operations across CRM, Billing, Order Management, Mediation and Activation with Software AG webMethods at the core.

You will administer middleware, monitor performance, troubleshoot complex issues and collaborate with L3/vendor support.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years' experience in middleware administration and BSS integration.
• Strong experience with enterprise messaging technologies such as IBM MQ, Kafka, RabbitMQ or ActiveMQ.
• Experience with ESB/integration technologies.
• Hands-on REST and SOAP API troubleshooting experience.
• Understanding of pub/sub, request-reply, routing and transformation patterns.
• Java, XML and XSLT troubleshooting knowledge.
• Experience supporting highly available middleware environments.
• Understanding of ITIL incident and change management.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support middleware, ESB and messaging platforms.
• Support Software AG webMethods Integration Server, API Gateway and associated integration workflows.
• Monitor queues, topics, message throughput, consumer lag, API performance and integration errors.
• Troubleshoot queue backlogs, failed messages, connection issues, integration failures and performance degradation.
• Investigate integration issues between CRM, Billing, Order Management, Mediation, Activation and other BSS components.
• Manage queues, topics, routing rules and integration configurations under Change Management.
• Support middleware clustering, high availability and failover.
• Perform middleware patching and upgrades. Troubleshoot REST and SOAP API integrations.
• Support JBoss EAP/WildFly or WebLogic components where applicable.
• Escalate complex issues to L3 and vendor support.
• Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams and operational run-books.
• Report middleware KPIs including throughput, latency, queue depth and error rates.
