Job summary

Confidential Government is seeking to strengthen its internal audit quality and maturity. You will lead quality reviews of audit files, assess evidence, and ensure compliance with approved methodologies and standards, while guiding a dedicated quality team.

The role involves developing updated audit methodologies, supporting external quality assessments, and driving capability-building initiatives for internal audit staff. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Internal Audit, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in internal audit or a related field.
• Hands-on experience conducting and reviewing internal audit engagements.
• Sound knowledge of internal audit methodologies, professional standards, and audit management systems.
• Professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, or CRMA are preferred.
• Strong analytical, report-writing, communication, team leadership, and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality reviews of internal audit files and working papers, assessing completeness, quality, and compliance with methodologies and standards.
• Evaluate the sufficiency and appropriateness of evidence supporting audit findings and conclusions.
• Review audit programs, reports, findings, and recommendations for clarity and practicality.
• Prepare Quality Assurance and Improvement Program reports and monitor improvement actions.
• Guide the quality team and ensure effective planning and execution of its activities.
• Support external quality assessments and follow up on related improvement plans.
• Develop and update internal audit methodologies, procedures, templates, guidance materials, and tools.
• Analyze recurring quality issues and recommend improvements to strengthen audit practices and maturity.
• Participate in internal audit engagements and special assignments, including risk assessment and testing.
• Support internal audit planning by identifying emerging and strategic risks.
• Plan and deliver awareness initiatives covering internal audit, risk, control, and governance.
• Coordinate projects and agreements with stakeholders.
• Support competency assessments and training and capability-building programs for internal audit employees.
