Job description

The instructor supports the delivery of laboratory and/or studio courses within the academic program. Responsibilities include assisting in planning and conducting lab/studio sessions, preparing instructional materials, supporting student assessments, and managing routine lab/studio operations. The instructor plays a key role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment while collaborating closely with faculty and senior staff to ensure effective course delivery and continuous student engagement.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Department Chair and faculty to review and maintain curriculum integrity, ensuring quality and relevance of course content.
  • Participates in departmental and college committees and administrative activities to support academic operations.
  • Delivers laboratory and/or studio courses in accordance with approved outlines and college workload policies, ensuring effective instruction.
  • Engages in continuous professional development to maintain expertise and improve instructional quality.
  • Provides tutorial sessions and individual support to enhance student understanding and success.
  • Participates in student assessments and instructor evaluations, adapting teaching methods based on constructive feedback to improve learning outcomes.
  • Develops and communicates clear instructional standards and course policies through comprehensive syllabi to set expectations.
  • Designs and develops lab/studio assignments and learning activities that align with course objectives and promote student engagement.
  • Applies fair and objective methods to evaluate student progress through assignments and exams, ensuring accurate measurement of learning.
  • Maintains precise records of student attendance and performance, submitting final grades punctually according to deadlines.
  • Holds regular office hours to provide accessible academic advice and timely support to students.
  • Ensures students receive necessary lab/studio equipment and maintains accurate documentation to uphold accountability.
  • Integrates instructional technologies and innovative teaching strategies to enhance the quality of student learning experiences.
  • Contributes to departmental self-evaluation and program review processes to support continuous improvement.
  • Fosters a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that respects diverse student needs and promotes academic success.
  • Performs all duties in a professional, effective, and confidential manner.
  • Performs all other related duties as required or assigned by direct manager.
Education & Experience
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Business, Information Technology, Health Sciences, or related discipline) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two (02) years of experience in conducting lab sessions, classroom teaching, and course development, or related fields
