Job summary

The ideal candidate will have a diploma in technical engineering and 6–9 years of experience in quality inspection of offshore structures. Job description
JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

To ensure that all structural construction related activities (Fabrication / Erection) are safely, effectively, and efficiently carried out in accordance with applicable technical requirements, company policies, procedures, and the Management System requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Verify structural material identity (plate, beam, angle etc.) and its conformance to the installation drawings and required specifications.
  • Verify that fit up and welding inspection has been performed, and joints have been released.
  • Verify that dimensions and alignment tolerances of structural components are as per permissible limits within the construction specifications, drawings and other applicable documents using latest dimension check equipment e.g. EDM (Electronic Distance Measurement Equipment), theodolite, dumpy level etc.
  • Conduct random surveillance, cross-verification, and in-process surveillance to verify compliance with applicable and approved specifications, WPS, weld consumable, use of qualified welders, weld process and welder performance.
  • Identify project consumable need, liaise with PSCM team to ensure timely order of consumable and proper management of consumable stock to avoid shortage.
  • Perform walkdown inspection and punch listing for structural components. Verifying that punch list items have been dealt with in accordance with the contractual arrangements. Witnessing final acceptance of the structure or associated items, including any final test that may be applicable as per the scope of the contract.
  • Complete and endorse all inspection records from initial inspection till final acceptance of the various structural and associated work.
  • Maintain interface with the Client to ensure that all contractual and code requirements are met as far as the inspection scope is concerned.
  • Determine and develop all standards and procedures necessary to perform inspection and tests on items and oversee all testing methods while maintaining high standards of quality for all processes.
  • Develop method statement for activities (when necessary) including risk assessment, job safety & environmental analysis, Inspection & Test Plan and Checklists based on project specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
  • Diploma in technical engineering or equivalent.
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)
  • Welding Inspection (CSWIP 3.1/AWS-CWI or equivalent schemes)
  • ISO 9001:2015 auditor or lead auditor certification.
Experience

Minimum of 6 – 9 years’ experience, relating to quality inspection of offshore structures (Rigs. Jackets, etc.).
