Description
JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
To ensure that all piping construction related activities (Fabrication / Erection) are safely, effectively, and efficiently carried out in accordance with applicable technical requirements, company policies, procedures, and the Management System requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify piping material identity (pipe, valves, and fittings) and its conformance to the installation drawings and required specification.
- Verify that welding inspection has been performed and joints have been released, and to the extent necessary (per contract) compile the test pack containing the relevant inspection & test documentation.
- Verify that dimensions and alignment tolerances of the piping systems are as per construction specifications.
- Review in-process surveillance to verify compliance with specified piping erection procedure including flange alignments, torquing, cleanliness etc. Identify, plan, and ensure proper management of project consumables, and liaise with PSCM for purchase of these consumables in advance.
- Perform piping walkdown inspection and complete punch lists. Verifying that punch list items have been dealt with in accordance with the contractual arrangements and witnessing final piping tests.
- Complete and endorse all inspection records from initial inspection till final acceptance of the piping systems.
- Maintain interface with the client to ensure that all contractual and code requirements are met as far as the inspection scope is concerned.
- Facilitate interpretation of key requirements, codes, standards, and documentation relating to different kinds of materials and welding consumables used in the maritime business, including third party inspector (ABS, DNV, LR, etc.) documentations.
- Monitor Piping Mechanical completion, fulfilling Pre-commissioning requirements for the project.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)
- Hands on Experience in professional Welding inspector certification such as CSWIP/AWS/ASNT, etc.
Experience
- Minimum of 6 – 9 years’ experience, relating to quality inspection of offshore structures (Rigs, Jackets, etc.)
