Job description

The IT Governance Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining IT governance frameworks to ensure that information technology supports business objectives, manages risk effectively, and complies with regulatory and security requirements. The role bridges business strategy, IT operations, risk management, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain IT governance frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ITIL, ISO/IEC 27001, NIST).
• Ensure alignment between IT strategy and organizational goals.
• Define and monitor IT policies, standards, procedures, and controls.
• Oversee IT risk management, including identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting of IT risks.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and contractual requirements (e.g., data protection, cybersecurity, audit requirements).
• Coordinate and support internal and external IT audits; track remediation actions.
• Establish IT performance metrics, KPIs, and reporting dashboards for senior management.
• Govern IT project and portfolio management to ensure value delivery and prioritization.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, enterprise risk, legal, and compliance teams.
• Promote awareness and training on IT governance, risk, and compliance across the organization.
• Support vendor and third-party IT risk assessments and governance processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3-9 years of experience in IT governance, IT risk management, compliance, or IT audit (adjustable by role level).
• Strong knowledge of IT governance frameworks and standards (COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001, NIST).

• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and data protection regulations.
