Job summary

WSP Middle East is seeking an HSE Manager for an ongoing property and building supervision project in Jeddah, KSA. You will lead health, safety and environmental management on site, directing inspectors and ensuring compliance with client and legal requirements.

The role requires proven HSE leadership experience, strong communication skills, and knowledge of Middle East regulations. English fluency is essential; Arabic knowledge is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in health and safety or related field.
• Proven experience in a similar HSE leadership role in construction/engineering.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and regional practices in the Middle East.
• Fluent in English; Arabic knowledge is an advantage.
• NEBOSH or equivalent certification desirable.
• Must hold SCE in Health & Safety domain.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee health, safety and environmental plans for the project.
• Lead HSE inspectors and ensure compliance with laws and client requirements.
• Develop and deliver HSE training for staff.
• Review contractor plans and risk assessments prior to work.
• Plan daily site visits to verify safety measures.
• Conduct weekly joint HSE inspections and close actions.
• Organise HSE meetings with clients.

Job description

WSP Middle East is looking for an HSE Manager for an ongoing Property amp Building Supervision Project in Jeddah in KSA.

Responsibilities

• Manage the health safety and environmental arrangements for the project against the WSP HSEQ Management System requirements to ensure the protection of our people
• Manage HSE Inspectors to ensure they are monitoring the implementation of health and safety arrangements at project site level in accordance with legal and client requirements
• Develop and deliver health safety and environmental training to WSP employees including but not limited to induction safe working practices
• Review and approve contractor s health safety and environmental plans risk assessments and method statements against legal and client requirements prior to the work being carried out
• Plan daily morning site visits across project sites to ensure health and safety measures are in place before works begins
• Carry out weekly joint HSE inspections with HSE Inspectors and contractor personnel and ensure all the corrective preventive actions are closed out
• Organise HSE meetings with clients

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree/ Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in a similar HSE leadership role, preferably within the construction or engineering industry.
• In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, particularly in the Middle East region.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• NEBOSH or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
• Mandate: Should hold SCE in Health & Safety domain.
