Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a motivated GIS I&C Engineer to support installation, commissioning, and fault elimination for high voltage systems worldwide.

You will lead independent installation and maintenance work, ensure safety and installation compliance, and coordinate with sub-suppliers and the PG Project Manager to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of GIS experience preferred.
• SF6 gas-handling knowledge and PGHV product knowledge preferred.
• MS Project proficiency required.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Carrying out installation and maintenance work independently.
• Ensuring compliance with installation requirements and safety measures.
• Red-mark drawings/documents with changes or modifications.
• Advise sub-supplier's installation superintendent for planning and coordination.
• Cooperate with PG Project Manager on status of work.
• Inspect arriving material for completeness and possible damage; coordinate handling with sub-suppliers.
• Issue non-conformance reports for damaged or missing equipment.
• Supervise final installation and commissioning tests and documentation.
• Coordinate loop check activities and attend site meetings as requested.
• Ensure competence in performing tasks and carry out management-assigned duties.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.

The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic GIS I&C Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be working as a GIS I&C Engineer to cover all the activities/actions required to enable switching systems to be successfully installed, repaired and any faults eliminated. You will be responsible for installation of high voltage systems worldwide for PGHV. He/she represents PG in general through his presence and technical knowledge and PGHV specifically in dealings with the client at the installation site. The deadlines issued for each project are adhered to, whereby the cost-performance ratio must always be borne in mind in this respect. He/she embodies the PG QA philosophy, considering the special conditions on the construction sites. You will be responsible for the installation & commissioning work entrusted to him being carried out in perfect technical order.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Carrying out installation and maintenance work independently.


• Ensuring compliance with the installation requirements and Instructions & ensures that the necessary accident prevention measures are observed; specifically, he abides by the guidelines for work on live system components.


• Responsible for red-mark drawings/documents with any changes or modification that became necessary during the installation.


• Advising the sub-supplier's installation superintendent in planning and coordination of the work force necessary to comply with the schedule.


• Cooperating with PG Project Manager on establishing status of completed and non-completed work.


• Inspecting of arriving material for completeness and possible damage and coordination of material handling in cooperation with sub-suppliers Material Control within sub-suppliers' procedures.


• Issuing non-conformance reports for damage or missing equipment within PG scope of supply in cooperation with PG Project Manager.


• Supervising final installation & commissioning tests and PG installation completion documentation.


• Supervising and coordinating the loop check activities and participation at site meetings as requested by the PG-CH Project Manager.


• Responsible for the competence execution of his tasks.


• Carry out any tasks that are assigned by management necessary to fulfil the job requirements.


• Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.


• Minimum 2-5 years of experience with GIS is preferred.


• Previous experience with SF6 GAS-Handling and PGHV Transmission & Sub transmission GIS Product knowledge preferred.


• Having capability to use MS project professionally.


• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
