Job summary

Dr soliman fakkeh hospital in Medina, Saudi Arabia, seeks a qualified physician to interview and evaluate patients, take comprehensive medical histories, perform exams, document findings, and participate in daily rounds.

You will notify attending physicians, coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team, complete discharge summaries, attend departmental meetings, and contribute to quality and CME activities while adhering to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• One year internship in recognized hospitals or health centers.
• Bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery from an accredited institution.
• Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews and evaluates patients during duty hours; takes thorough medical history and performs physical exams; documents findings.
• Notifies attending physician about patient condition and discusses management plans.
• Performs daily inpatient rounds and documents progress, assessment, and plan.
• Covers call on rotation and responds to emergencies with team support.
• Documents indications for advanced diagnostic tests and ensure compliance with policies.
• Completes discharge summaries and handovers; participates in departmental meetings and CME activities.
• Coordinates care with nurses, specialists, and other departments to ensure safe care.
• Preoperative assessments and perioperative support when assigned to surgical wards.

Description

1. Interviews and evaluates patients during his her duty hours and takes thorough accurate medical history including detailed medication history socioeconomic psychological and functional history and performsphysical exams as applicable Documents findings and relevant clinical information in the patient s medicalrecord
2. Notifies the attending physician about any admitted inpatients and discusses with him her the patient sclinical condition and any medical details that warrant further or additional management clarify with him herthe needed work up and management plan
3. Conducts daily rounds to every inpatient in his her assigned wards and documents in the progress notes his her findings along with assessment and plan of care
4. Covers call Rota as first on call as per departmental schedules
5. Responds immediately to patient s medical complaints evaluates and manages the patient with assistance ofthe concerned specialist or consultant and documents findings and plan of care in the progress notes
6. Documents all the indications and clinical justifications for all requested advanced diagnostic tests e g C T scan MRI U S and for management steps and ensure documentation complies with Fakeeh Care policies andwith insurance companies standards including accurate choice of ICD s
7. Completes handover Handoff at the end of duty shifts for all inpatients in his her assigned ward to his hercolleague hands off details must include pending medical diagnostic and therapeutic tasks
8. Coordinates between the patient and all disciplines of health care team involved in the care provisionincluding nurses consultants clinical dietitians social workers laboratory and radiology departments andInsurance company doctors etc
9. Fills accurately and properly all required forms in patient s medical record as defined by Fakeeh Care policiesincluding the medical transfer form for all patients transferred from his her ward to another wards
10. Completes properly and accurately the discharge summaries of his inpatients and discusses the dischargeinstruction sheet and take-home medications with the discharged patients
11. Attends all departmental meetings and participates actively in all departmental projects and activities
12. Participates in all quality and patient safety activities in the Fakeeh Health Care facility
13. Acts as an active member of the Fakeeh Health Care facility and shares in all efforts that facilitate theprovision of safe uneventful and smooth care to Fakeeh Care patients
14. Reports to the attending of patients and or chairpersons of medical departments any relevant unresolvedmedical patient related problems
15. Participates in continuous medical education activities and earns CME hours as required by regional healthregulatory authority
16. Performs additional duties as directed by Chair of involved department and in full compliance with assignedprivileges
17. Additional Duties when assigned to Surgical wards
    • Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments including history taking physical examinations andordering diagnostic tests
    • Perform minor surgical procedures and assist in more complex surgeries under the supervision of seniorsurgeons
    • Manage postoperative care including monitoring recovery prescribing medication and providing followupcare under supervision
    • Coordinate with surgical teams to ensure effective patient care before during and after surgery
18. Additional Duties when assigned to Obstetrics and gynecology wards
    • Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care under supervision of MRP including regularexams prenatal visits labor and delivery assistance and postpartum care
19. Additional Duties when assigned to Pediatric wards
    • Provide medical care to pediatric inpatients including newborns infants children and adolescents under the supervision of senior pediatricians
    • Attend labor and delivery to provide immediate neonatal care including initial assessments resuscitation if necessary and stabilization of newborns
    • Stabilize critically ill or injured pediatric patients in emergency situations and work as part of a team to
