Job summary

Pinnacle Solutions, an Akima company, seeks an Engine Technician to perform maintenance on CH-47 aircraft engines. Responsibilities include engine maintenance, diagnostics, and training of staff. The role supports daily OR rate goals and requires prior U.S. Government armed forces qualification and CH-47 experience.

On-site work with a focus on safety, quality, and coordination with the Maintenance Lead and Logistics for parts and spares.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engine maintenance using Operators Manual, MTL, and Check List Manual.
  • Diagnose and repair engine systems and components per manuals and safety procedures.
  • Use precision measuring tools and alignment fixtures for tasks.
  • Conduct engine operational checks and troubleshoot with test sets and diagnostic equipment.
  • Assist in requisitioning shop and bench stock for engine repairs.
  • Ensure daily maintenance goals align with platform OR rate targets.
  • Provide OJT, coaching, and mentorship to RSLFAC personnel.

Job description

Company is looking for an Engine Technician.

The Engine Technician performs maintenance duties on a CH-47 aircraft.

Responsibilities
  • Performs unit level aircraft engine maintenance and on engine system/subsystem components.
  • Performs maintenance on the CH-47 engine using the specific aircraft Operators Manual, Maintenance Test Flight Manual, aircraft Check List Manual, and any customer or specific directives.
  • Diagnoses and repairs aircraft engine systems and components malfunction according to the appropriate technical manuals, directives and safety procedures.
  • Uses common measuring tools necessary for performing the tasks described herein, precision measuring tools and alignment fixtures.
  • Performs aircraft engine operational checks. Tests, troubleshoots, and repairs aircraft engines using test sets and diagnostic equipment.
  • Assists Customer in the requisition and maintenance of shop and bench stock items for repair of aircraft engines.
  • Uses and performs operator maintenance on common and special tools, AGSE and PGSE.
  • Ensures that aircraft engine repair and maintenance activities and procedures among designated organizations are planned, coordinated, integrated, and synchronized to achieve established platform operational readiness (OR) rates IAW contractual requirements.
  • Responsible for the compliance with established maintenance systems, processes, procedures and reports that provide immediate situational awareness of platform OR rates.
  • Establishes daily aircraft engine maintenance operational goals, objectives and priorities for implementation in-order to achieve stated OR rates.
  • Oversees the daily aircraft engine maintenance management of individually assigned aircraft in support of the Maintenance Lead, in conjunction with Logistics for related platform parts and spares.
  • Works within the maintenance quality control processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Directs inquires, investigations, and research analysis related to aviation engine maintenance of the aircraft and supporting maintenance activities to the Maintenance Lead.
  • Coordinates activities and requirements for maintenance operations support with the Maintenance Lead.
  • In coordination with the PC and Maintenance Lead, supports the Downed Aircraft Recovery Team (DART) processes and procedures.
  • Enters data, reviews, and updates aircraft maintenance forms and records.
  • Provides On-the-Job Training (OJT), coaching, and mentoring to RSLFAC personnel in all aspects of engine related tasks as necessary.
  • Ensures that all related maintenance operations are conducted in a safe manner.
  • Other tasks as directed by the Maintenance Lead.
Qualifications
  • Eight (8) years’ experience and two (2) within the last five (5) years as an aircraft engine mechanic
    Successfully completed and be qualified by the appropriate U.S. Government armed forces.
  • Engine Technician course or civilian equivalent training.
  • Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms or similar aviation maintenance management system, and other aircraft related documentation.
  • Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Possess a valid state or Government issued driver’s license.
  • Successfully pass an overseas deployment physical upon hire.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have a HS diploma or GED equivalent.
Desired Skill Required.
  • CH-47 Engine Technician experience (Lycoming 714A).
  • Associate degree.
  • FAA Powerplant License.
