Job summary

Awtad is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. The role combines technical office work with hands-on site supervision to support electrical load reviews, drawing modifications, and on-site installation oversight.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, proven contracting and site execution experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD and DIALux. You will coordinate with MEP teams, ensure quality control, and drive commissioning and handover

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Proven experience in electrical contracting and site execution.
• Experience with technical office practice and drawing reviews.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and DIALux for electrical layouts and lighting calculations.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and site execution standards.

Responsibilities

• Technical Office Duties.
• Load Calculation & Review: verify electrical load calculations, panel schedules, cable sizing, and circuit breaker capacities.
• Drawing Preparation & Modification: draft, modify, and review shop drawings and as-built drawings.
• Material Submittals & RFIs: review MARs/MIRs, TS, and issue RFIs to consultants.
• Quantity Surveying: assist in material takeoff and verify quantities against BOQ and specs.
• Site Supervision & Execution: oversee daily installation of electrical systems in accordance with drawings.
• Quality Assurance & Inspections: conduct field inspections and ensure quality control.
• Subcontractor Management: direct site technicians, resolve issues, enforce safety standards.
• Testing & Commissioning: participate in pre-commissioning, testing, and handover procedures.
• Multidisciplinary Coordination: coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP teams.
• Communication: maintain clear communication with consultants, project managers, and suppliers.

In this role, experienced Technical Office & Site Engineer with a strong background in construction and contracting projects. The ideal candidate will combine technical office expertise- specifically in electrical load reviewing and engineering drawing modifications with hands-on site supervision.

Requirements

• Technical Office Duties
• Load Calculation & Review: Study and verify electrical load calculations, panel schedules, cable sizing, and circuit breaker capacities for technical accuracy and compliance
• Drawing Preparation & Modification: Draft, modify, and review Shop Drawings and As-Built Drawings to resolve design discrepancies and adapt to site conditions
• Material Submittals & RFIs: Review and process material submittals (MARs/MIRs) and technical data sheets, and issue Requests for Information (RFIs) to address design clarifications with consultants
• Quantity Surveying: Assist in material takeoff and quantity verification against project Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and specs
• Site Supervision & Execution
• Site Execution: Oversee daily installation of power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-current systems in full compliance with approved shop drawings and specifications
• Quality Assurance & Inspections: Conduct field inspections, submit Work Inspection Requests (WIRs), receive delivered materials on-site, and ensure strict quality control
• Subcontractor Management: Direct site technicians and subcontractors, resolve constructability issues on-site, and enforce safety standards
• Testing & Commissioning: Participate in pre-commissioning, testing, and system handover procedures
• Multidisciplinary Coordination
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, and mechanical (MEP) teams to prevent interface clashes before and during execution
• Maintain clear technical communication between consultants, project managers, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle
• Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience: Proven experience in electrical contracting and site execution, with demonstrated technical office practice
• Software Proficiency: AutoCAD, DIALux, and electrical load calculation tools
• Codes & Standards: Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes and site execution standards
