Job Purpose / Objective
Perform echocardiograms according to physician's orders and established practices and procedures by using non-invasive imaging technology to analyse a patient's heart, specifically the function of its veins, arteries, chambers, and valves.

Perform echocardiograms according to physician's orders and established practices and procedures by using non-invasive imaging technology to analyse a patient's heart, specifically the function of its veins, arteries, chambers, and valves.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Confers with cardiologist to establish requirements for non-standard examinations and determines technical factors to satisfy requirements.
- Prepares and mounts ECG for interpretation by Cardiologist.
- Evaluates nature of critical and emergency procedures and rearranges patient priorities to accommodate them.
- Advises cardiologists of results of examination and provides preliminary diagnostic evaluation.
- Notifies cardiologist of significant scans necessitating immediate attention to patient.
- Assists and participates in ECHO and ECG procedures as per doctor's order for both inpatient and outpatient units.
- Assists in special procedures in the Cardiology department such as:
- Echocardiogram
- Dubutamine ECHO
- Stress ECHO
- Trans-esophageal ECHO
- Maintains a logbook of procedures done in the department and prepares monthly statistical reports.
- Applies HOLTER monitor to patients as per doctor's order if a nurse technician is busy.
- Helps coordinate with patients for HOLTER monitoring.
- Reports directly to Biomed through the department in charge regarding any mechanical or electrical defect of equipment.
- Adheres to manufacturer's routine for all equipment.
- Provides individualized patient/family education as per their needs.
- Organizes supplies in the unit.
- Adheres to dress code policy.
- Performs procedures within the infection control standards.
- Participates in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
- Enriches patient experience with compassion, respect, and dignity.
- Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Requirements
Education/ Professional Qualification
Diploma or equivalent qualification i.e., cardiovascular technology or relevant.
Experience
Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience.
