Job summary

A leading MEP specialist construction company is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Riyadh. The successful candidate will assist Senior Engineers in project evaluations, develop concept designs, and ensure compliance with standards. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of progressive experience in the field.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of engineering services for buildings and infrastructure.
• Practical knowledge of all services to assist with technical difficulties.

Job description

Our client one of the leading MEP specialist construction company is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer.

The successful candidate will be mainly responsible for the following role:

• To assist Senior Engineers in the evaluation of the engineering content of projects for which designs by others.
• To assist Senior Engineers and the Tendering Department as required in the development of concept designs for Design and Build/EPC contracts.
• To assist in the development of concept designs and designs by others using recognized methods of calculation to a level by which materials and equipment can be procured and shop drawings can be produced.
• To assist the Project management team in all technical aspects of the works, including assistance with procurement where required.
• To assist in liaison with Client’s personnel in securing approval of drawings, materials and equipment
• To assist in liaison with CAD operators in the timely production of Shop Drawings to an acceptable level

Responsibilities
• Ensure up-to-date knowledge and application of QA procedures related to the function of the position.
• Assist Procurement as required to ensure that all procurement is suitable for the purpose intended and is within contractual requirements.
• Carry out calculations by recognized corporate procedures and with the use of corporate-approved designed software to evaluate the performance criteria of equipment.
• Ensure compliance with requirements of the Client and standard regulations.
• Coordination and follow up to ensure timely execution of the tendering process and/or project execution.

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Skills
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience including supervision
Knowledge and related experience of a wide spectrum of engineering services for building and infrastructure in particular with mechanical engineering
• Detailed oriented
• Practical knowledge of all services sufficient to provide assistance with any technical difficulty arising at site
