Job summary

Egis in Riyadh is seeking a Civil Engineer Intern to contribute to design, planning and execution of civil engineering projects under the Tamheer internship program. You will work with experienced professionals on real-world infrastructure initiatives.

You will gain hands-on experience in drawing review, site inspections, cost estimation, scheduling and documentation while learning BIM, CAD and Saudi building codes to build professional competencies.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a civil engineering program or equivalent technical field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Strong understanding of technical drawing interpretation and blueprint reading.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Basic knowledge of construction processes and civil engineering fundamentals.
• Familiarity with structural principles and building design concepts.
• Preferred: Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Saudi Arabian building codes and construction standards.
• Preferred: Previous site visit or field experience in construction or engineering projects.
• Preferred: Understanding of project management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and review of technical drawings, blueprints, and design documents using industry-standard software
• Conduct site inspections and document field observations, measurements, and project progress with precision and accuracy
• Support senior engineers in analyzing project requirements and developing solutions to engineering challenges
• Participate in the creation and maintenance of project documentation, reports, and technical specifications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with Saudi building codes, regulations, and safety standards
• Assist in the estimation of project costs, timelines, and resource requirements
• Contribute to the organization and coordination of project meetings and site visits
• Learn and apply civil engineering principles to practical construction and infrastructure projects
• Support the development of construction schedules and project management activities
• Maintain organized records and databases related to project information and technical data
