Job summary

Client of The Green Recruitment Company seeks a Chief Technology Officer to lead the technology strategy and technical excellence of its Renewables Division.

The CTO will provide strategic technical leadership across the full EPC lifecycle, from bidding and technology selection to commissioning and operational support, overseeing specialist teams in Power Systems, Grid Integration, and related disciplines.

Qualifications

• 20+ years in renewable energy/EPC/power systems/utility operations.
• 7–10+ years in senior technical leadership.
• Deep experience with utility-scale IBR plants (1 GW+), including Solar, Wind, BESS and hybrids.
• Strong understanding of utility grid operations and international grid codes.
• Experience with power system studies, grid integration, control systems, weak-grid challenges.
• Direct or supervisory RTDS testing, commissioning, SAT, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of IEEE, IEC, and CIGRE standards/guidelines.
• Understanding of telecommunications architectures/protocols (Modbus, IEC 104, IEC 61850).

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership across the full EPC lifecycle from bidding to operations.
• Lead specialist teams across Power Systems, Grid Integration, Control & Operations, Energy Yield & Diagnostics.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities including RTDS/HIL environments.
• Support technical evaluation and selection of technologies (WTG, PV, BESS, hybrid plants).
• Engage with utilities, OEMs, consultants and business leads; present at industry forums.

Job description I m currently supporting a leading global EPC organisation in the renewable energy sector with the search for a Chief Technology Officer CTO to lead the technology strategy and technical excellence of its Renewables Division

The Opportunity

The CTO will provide strategic technical leadership across the full EPC lifecycle - from bidding and technology selection through engineering commissioning and operational support Key responsibilities include Leading specialist teams across Power Systems amp Grid Integration Control amp Operations Energy Yield amp Performance Technical Analysis amp Diagnostics Equipment Engineering and Telecommunications Providing technical leadership on the integration of large-scale inverter-based renewable energy plants into utility grids Reviewing and mitigating technical risks during bidding and project execution Providing expertise across grid codes power system studies DMAT SSCI SSTI power electronics controls and grid-event analysis Overseeing RTDS HIL testing SAT commissioning and technical troubleshooting Supporting the technical evaluation and selection of WTGs PV modules BESS control systems and other critical technologies Working closely with utilities developers OEMs consultants and internal business leaders Representing the organisation at international conferences technical forums and industry events

What we're looking for:

• 20+ years of experience within renewable energy, EPC, power systems, grid integration or utility operations
