Job summary

Echelon is seeking a Senior Engineering leader to own its applied AI engineering, overseeing the team, technology, and the quality of deployments across critical workflows. You will collaborate with the Head of AI Transformation and manage forward deployed engineers to scale enterprise AI solutions.

You will shape architecture, drive platform evolution, and maintain security and data residency standards while working with CIOs, CISOs and partners. Regular travel to customer sites is expected.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in engineering leading teams shipping production systems.
• Experience delivering for large enterprises or government.
• Hands-on with LLMs, agent frameworks, retrieval and evaluation.
• Experience ensuring AI systems are observable, secure and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical direction of every engagement: architecture, model and partner choices.
• Build and lead forward deployed engineers and leads; design pods sized to demand.
• Own the technical quality from prototype to production; review designs and risks.
• Support the sale with architecture reviews, security and data-residency assessments.
• Set standards for how Echelon builds, secures and operates AI systems.
• Transfer capability with documentation, monitoring and handover.
• Shape the platform roadmap with the platform lead; align with field needs.
• Lead technical relationships with model providers and cloud/tech partners.
