Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a Chief Accountant in Umluj, Saudi Arabia, to oversee daily accounting operations for a luxury property. You will supervise staff, ensure accurate bank reconciliations, and prepare monthly financial statements in line with policy and local regulations.

The role requires strong analytical skills, leadership experience, and proficiency in PeopleSoft and Opera. You will work with the Finance Director to ensure budgeting, policy application, and timely tax

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software such as PeopleSoft and Opera.

Chief Accountant

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• To supervise daily accounting operations, supervising, controls, mentoring staff, ensuring teamwork and efficient and effective operation.
• To verify daily bank balances through review of bank statements, prepare bank reconciliation and credit card reconciliation for Director of Finance approval.
• To verify the accuracy of General Cashier report and that revenue are daily deposited into the bank by the General Cashier.
• To perform month-end accounts reconciliation of all general ledger balances before issuing monthly financial statements. Report any gaps or variance to the Director of Finance.
• To review monthly report like F&B report, Cost Controller’s report etc. as per hotel policy
• To ensure all tax payment and filing are respected timely, and variances are resolved.
• To prepare various monthly reports as required by Management.
• To assist the Director of Finance in reviewing CAPEX, application of accounting policy, budgeting, financial analysis, and Ad hoc duties.
• To ensure proper filing of accounting records, including contracts, and easy retrievals.
• To keep updated with new regulations and IHG policies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Opera, etc.).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
