Key responsibilities include:

• Building frameworks, structures and fixtures using raw materials such as wood, metal or plastic
• Installing building components such as windows, doors and skirting boards
• Measuring, cutting and installing drywall
• Constructing stairs, cabinetry and flooring
• Finishing surfaces including sanding or sealing
• Repairing furniture or other wooden objects when needed
• Painting or staining surfaces with finishes such as varnish or lacquer
• Interpreting blueprints, sketches or building plans to determine measurements and material requirements.
