A global infrastructure solutions firm is seeking an experienced technician to supply, install, and maintain CATV systems in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate must have lead-level experience with communications systems, including expertise in CATV equipment and hold a valid U.S. security clearance. Responsibilities include ensuring the technical operations of CATV infrastructure and supporting various military channels.

Qualifications

  • Must have lead-level practical experience with installations, repair, and troubleshooting of communications systems.
  • Expert in CATV equipment including downlink antennas, LNBs, and modulators.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Major Job Activities:

  • Supply, install, operate, and maintain CATV systems and equipment, including the Government satellite cable network and FM Armed Forces Radio and Television Service radio broadcasts and support the day-to-day technical operations of the CATV infrastructure.
  • Install, repair, and maintain CATV equipment and subsystem equipment, existing RG-6, RG-11, RG-59 cable, interfacility fiber cable, junction boxes, and interface equipment.
  • Install inside cable plant coaxial cable to support expansion of the system, including support to identify defective cable, replace, and bury CATV cabling.
  • Support Commanders’ Access Channel, Force Protection Channel, and Morale Channel.

Material & Equipment Directly Used:

Computers, printers, scanners, telephone and general office equipment.

Working Environment:

  • Working environment is a climate-controlled facility. Outdoor temperatures may exceed temperatures of 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May require support during periods of non-traditional working hours including nights or weekend

Physical Activities:

Must be able to lift/push/pull 40 lbs. unassisted

Experience / Skills:

  • Lead-level practical experience with installations, repair, and troubleshooting or maintenance of communications systems or equipment; solving complex problems, understanding the interrelationships of circuits, and the ability to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of communications systems or equipment; AND
  • Expert in CATV equipment: downlink antennas; LNBs; decoders; modulators; signal monitors; fiber optic distribution equipment; video ticker system; Phase Alternating Line (PAL) encoding system.
