Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of body shop technicians.
  • Assign repair jobs based on technician skills, workload, and priorities.
  • Monitor repair progress to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  • Perform quality inspections before vehicles are released to customers.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Support technicians with technical guidance and issue resolution.
  • Maintain communication with service advisors, estimators, parts dept, and insurance reps.
  • Monitor productivity, efficiency, and labor utilization.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate repair documentation and work records.
  • Assist in training, coaching, and evaluating team members.
  • Promote a positive work environment and teamwork.
  • Manage workshop housekeeping and keep a clean, organized area.
  • Help achieve departmental KPIs such as cycle time, customer satisfaction, quality and profitability.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).5 - 8 years of experience in automotive body repair, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of collision repair techniques, body alignment, welding, painting processes, and manufacturer repair procedures.
  • Ability to read repair estimates and technical manuals.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy and experience with body shop management systems is an advantage.
