About the Role

As a Design Engineer in Product Lifecycle Engineering, you will leverage your CAD expertise and problem-solving abilities to develop product features that enhance the performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of our centrifugal compressor fleet, focusing on single-shaft compressors. You will serve as a technical advisor to product management and production engineering teams, helping resolve design issues. This role offers the opportunity to influence the design of all heritage compressors across the fleet, impacting company performance and energy transition strategies.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Utilize CAD to model and design modifications for single-shaft compressors supporting modernization and product improvements.
• Contribute to the Product Development Process (PDP) by proposing new ideas, participating in gate reviews, and assisting in implementing new solutions.
• Mentor production engineering and technical support teams to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain proficiency in mechanical design and compressor technology, including manufacturing capabilities.
• Train the engineering team on the design principles of single-shaft compressors.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years experience in designing rotating equipment, specifically centrifugal compressors, with familiarity with our compressor fleet models.
• Strong skills in NX for 3D modeling and understanding of drafting standards.
• Experience in design for manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• Ability to challenge existing norms and explain complex problems simply.
• Proficiency in German and English, with willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
