Position Overview:

As the Lead Electrical Engineer for Hochspannung, you will lead project engineering activities related to high-voltage systems, including the design, development, and implementation of power transmission and distribution infrastructure. This role demands technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strategic approach to complex engineering challenges, ensuring successful project execution and optimal system performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Oversee and lead the engineering design of high-voltage systems, including substations, transformers, and grid connections, ensuring adherence to safety, reliability, and efficiency standards.
• Project Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for high-voltage engineering projects from planning through commissioning.
• System Design and Analysis: Develop and review electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and specifications, and perform system analyses, including load flow, short circuit, and protection studies.
• Compliance and Standards: Ensure all designs comply with industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, VDE) and national regulations, including DIN and VDE standards, for safe and compliant infrastructure.
• Quality Control and Documentation: Prepare and review detailed engineering documents, including technical specifications, test plans, and O&M manuals, maintaining quality control throughout project phases.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless project execution and clear communication across all stakeholders.
• Risk Management and Troubleshooting: Identify and mitigate potential project risks, troubleshooting technical challenges as they arise to ensure uninterrupted progress.
• Mentorship and Team Development: Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering skill development and a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in high-voltage electrical engineering, with demonstrated expertise in system design and project management.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory) and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN).
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage protection and control systems, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Excellent understanding of relevant standards and regulations (IEC, IEEE, VDE) for high-voltage installations.
• Proven project management skills, with the ability to lead complex projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Project management certification (PMP or equivalent) is an asset.
• Hands-on experience with renewable energy integration into high-voltage networks.
• Proficiency in German and English for technical communication and documentation.
