Trade Finance and Lending (TF&L) is a leading business department in the Corporate Bank, working with clients worldwide. It relies heavily on its IT platform to serve the bank's clients. The group is currently refreshing its IT platform to enable new customer services and to automate business processes further.

Our in-house IT team has successfully designed, built, and deployed a strategic platform for TF&L. Building on this success, we aim to develop our strategic architecture further.

Your primary focus will be to develop the strategic data platform central to the tech transformation of a key revenue-generating business in the bank.

Your key responsibilities

1. Collaborate with application teams to develop target state data architecture, including core transport, data warehouse, data feeds, in-memory data grid, and analytics engine.
2. Develop a strategic data modeling toolset, including a comprehensive data model, versioning, schema evolution support, and documentation tooling.
3. Create usage patterns for these technologies to facilitate project development.
4. Ensure 99% uptime during business hours by developing monitoring and disaster recovery strategies for both production and testing environments, and support documentation.
5. Participate in direct business delivery projects, such as adopting new data feeds, app integrations, and user-facing data-grid apps, to stay aligned with business needs.

Your skills and experiences

• Several years of Java engineering or senior software engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, schema evolution, algorithms, networks, and databases.
• Extensive experience with Kafka, data warehousing, columnar databases (e.g., ClickHouse), and in-memory data grids.
• Proficiency with JVM languages such as Java, Kotlin, Scala; knowledge of JS/TypeScript is a plus.
• Experience in building organization-level data models and related documentation tools is advantageous.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken, to communicate effectively within a global team.
