Your tasks
Lead the monitoring of physical and financial energy trading activity (power, gas, emissions) for potential market manipulation, insider trading, and non-compliant behavior under MAR and REMIT II.
Investigate and document alerts; manage escalations and support any required remediation or reporting.
Design, implement, and calibrate surveillance tools and alert logic to ensure effective coverage and minimal false positives jointly with our risk and compliance departments.
Serve as the primary liaison between risk, compliance, IT, and surveillance tool vendors during system enhancements.
Participate in user group discussions and advocate for our interests in best practice and surveillance tool development.
Ensure proper documentation of methods and procedures and support internal and external audits.
Share knowledge with team members while seeking continuous improvement oneself.
Your profile
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Law, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in trade surveillance, compliance, or regulatory risk within EU energy markets.
Deep understanding of REMIT II and MAR regulations and their practical application to energy trading.
Proven experience implementing or optimizing trade surveillance tools.
Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
Strong analytical and investigative skills; proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written additional languages is a plus.
