Become part of our team and shape the future of the evolving automotive industry in your new role as Development Engineer Rubber Products (m/f/d) in the independent business unit Original Equipment Solutions.
The goal of rubber product and process development is to lay the foundation for innovation in the business area Original Equipment Solutions (OESL), aiming to be the leader in highly developed, intelligent, and sustainable rubber products for the automotive industry, providing the best solutions for our customers across markets. We are looking for a Development Engineer Rubber (m/w/d) to start immediately.
Your tasks will include:
- Leading projects for developing new technologies and processes, focusing on rubber products to ensure technological leadership for OESL.
- Managing internal interfaces within the defined R&D process, coordinating with peer R&D departments to meet internal and external process and quality standards.
- Reviewing product developments internally and externally concerning technical content and intellectual property.
- Monitoring market trends, exhibitions, and fairs to inform technical development.
- Driving conceptional ideas towards patents or unique selling points.
- Building a robust network within the responsible functional areas across technical departments within R&D and segments.
- Continuously improving specifications in design and manufacturing to enhance product usability for application engineers and customers.
- Innovating and creating solutions aligned with our corporate sustainability strategy.
Qualifications
- Academic degree in mechanical or industrial engineering, automotive engineering, chemistry, or materials science.
- Experience in the automotive industry.
- Several years of professional experience in process engineering or product development in rubber products.
- Knowledge of production technologies such as extrusion, calendering, vulcanization, injection molding, etc.
- Passion for rubber products.
- Experience with development project work and relevant tools.
- Ability to organize and document target-driven meetings.
- Fluent in English and very good German skills, both written and spoken.
- Respect and experience in intercultural communication.
- Independent working style, good communication skills, team orientation, and confidence.
- Willingness to travel (approx. 10-20%).
