Tasks:

• Creation of concepts for systems and subsystems
• Carrying out requirements analyses and management
• Creation of specifications
• Carrying out system integration and error detection
• Carrying out system tests
• Support in the creation of quantity structures and schedules
• Presenting technical offers to customers on site
• Support in negotiating technical content with customers, partners and suppliers
• Support in the definition, planning and control of work packages (ACTUAL/SOLL)
• Coordination and creation of essential system documents
• Carrying out technical reviews and audits
• Creation of technical decision templates (e.g. make or buy)
• Creation of test concepts and documents
• Market observation of current technical trends
• Reporting and presentation of development results in project status meetings
• Conception, planning, realisation and testing of system-wide IP networks

Requirements:

• Completed technical studies
• Several years of professional experience in a technical department
• Experience in the technical handling of projects
• Business fluent in English (written and spoken), especially technical English
• Experience in the operation of LAN and WLAN infrastructures, preferably with Cisco technologies
• Knowledge of network security (especially Tipping Point and Fortinet firewalls)
• Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN)
• Knowledge and understanding of IT services (Active Directory, SCCM, IAM) and virtualisation technologies (vmWare and Microsoft Hyper-V)
• Programming and scripting experience is an advantage (examples: Python, YAML, JSON)
• Very good knowledge of routing and switching, especially in-depth knowledge of traffic routing/routing protocols and routing protocols as well as traffic shaping / packet prioritisation / quality of service / congestion control
• Very good knowledge of IT network design, especially: experience with network management and design for military IP networks as well as with inter-networking (network of networks) for WAN, especially for mobile networks
• Knowledge of the implementation of IT security measures / intrusion detection / intrusion prevention is desirable
