Operations is the beating heart of Amazon. This key part of our business ensures we dispatch and deliver orders efficiently so that our customers get their items on time. It’s driven by Senior Delivery Station Managers who bring the team together to push excellence in safety, quality, and productivity across our sites.

At your site, you’ll lead other managers and create the operational plan that helps your teams meet their targets. This role is all about driving operational excellence to create the Amazon of tomorrow.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Manage and develop a team of Operations Managers and Area Managers
  2. Own your site, deal with issues, and positively impact site performance
  3. Analyse site performance against relevant business objectives, and implement actions to improve operational excellence
  4. Work closely with support teams, including PxT (HR), Finance, Delivery Service Partners (DSP), IT, Amazon Customer Excellence System (ACES), and Engineering units
  5. Design and deliver initiatives across the site to improve operational performance

A day in the life

You have ultimate ownership of an entire Delivery Station, leading teams, tracking site performance, and always looking for ways to improve the customer experience. You’ll be close to the day-to-day operations but also contribute to innovations at your site.

A typical day involves collaboration with stakeholders, deep diving into performance and risk metrics, and preparing for varying demand levels. You will mentor and coach your team to achieve top results.

About the team

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) handles last-mile delivery in partnership with third-party businesses. We focus on continuous improvement and innovative delivery solutions to ensure a smooth customer experience, including concepts like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, and Amazon Restaurants.

Our operations are 24/7, with 'underground' associates processing products and 'on the road' teams working with Amazon Flex delivery contractors. We aim to reduce our carbon footprint with advanced vehicles and technology.

Qualifications

  • A degree and relevant experience in people and stakeholder management
  • Proficiency in English and intermediate in the local language
  • Experience using data or anecdotal evidence for decision-making
  • Experience in production and supply chains

Preferred qualifications

Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen techniques, and working in logistics environments is advantageous but not required.
