We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Data Protection Specialist to ensure consistent data protection practices across our global operations. This role offers the opportunity to act as a key advisor on data protection matters and contribute to the improvement of processes, policies, and compliance strategies within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the deputy to the appointed Data Protection Officer (DPO), stepping in during their absence.
  2. Monitor and ensure compliance with GDPR, the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), and other international data protection laws.
  3. Address data protection inquiries and manage related information security issues.
  4. Support data protection officers in evaluating and analysing business processes, conducting audits, and optimising documentation and workflows.
  5. Manage routine data protection tasks, such as handling data subject requests, maintaining processing activity records, assisting with DPIAs, and documenting technical and organisational measures (TOMs).
  6. Provide guidance and training to internal departments and global offices on data protection matters, considering relevant risks and requirements.
  7. Assist in drafting and updating privacy statements, policies, agreements, and contracts.
  8. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data protection is integrated into system implementations.
  9. Enhance the data protection management system in alignment with information security protocols.
  10. Review and negotiate data protection contracts.
  11. Deliver training sessions for employees.
  12. Depending on qualifications, potential appointment as the Data Protection Officer (DPO).

Requirements:

  1. A degree in law (Master's or State Examination) or equivalent professional experience in data protection management with a legal focus.
  2. Solid knowledge of data protection laws and related legal frameworks.
  3. Ability to balance regulatory requirements with strategic goals and stakeholder interests.
  4. Strong IT affinity and curiosity about emerging technologies.
  5. Fluent in German and English (both written and verbal).
  6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a passion for knowledge-sharing.
  7. Independent, results-oriented working style.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
