To meet the growing demand for AWS cloud computing capacity in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), we are now looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join the team.

Description

Are you experienced in Critical Infrastructure Commissioning? As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE), you will be part of a highly creative, efficient team tasked with building and supporting the operations of AWS-owned data centres, Hybrid Colo's, Single Tennent Colo, and Multi Tennent Colo builds. The AWS Commissioning team (ACx) evaluates, defines, and manages construction quality expectations to meet customer requirements.

Key job responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Support vendors, contractors, and teams involved in construction and commissioning of systems such as:
  • Medium and low voltage power systems
  • Generators
  • UPS
  • HVAC
  • Chilled Water Systems
  • Building Management systems (BMS)
  • Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
  • Testing and balancing
  • Pumps and Hydronic systems

The CxE provides input into scheduling, test script development, designing, and planning. Reviews component submittals, leads Factory Witness Testing (FWT), performs system and integrated testing, audits activities for compliance, and reports weekly on project status and lessons learned. The role includes coverage of multiple projects.

Physical Requirements

  • Walk job sites on uneven terrain
  • Work at heights and from ladders
  • Handle objects weighing up to 49 pounds
  • Work shifts longer than eight hours, including nights and weekends
  • Respond to emergency calls outside regular hours
  • Work in noisy and extreme temperature environments

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years in mission-critical facilities or data center infrastructure, with a relevant Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of commissioning experience
  • Certification or training in NETA, ASHRAE, or commissioning courses
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (>50%)
  • Own transportation for off-site visits (reimbursed)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in colocation data centers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
  • Strong communication, organization, and stress management skills
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
  • Ability to read and edit construction documents
