Effective 1 August 2025 Frankfurt International School in Oberursel is looking for a qualified, experienced and motivated Instructional Technology Integrator for the Primary Division (Early Years). The position is initially termed until 31 July 2026.

The Instructional Technology Integrator is an instructional collaborator who supports effective technology use, partners with educators to improve learning experiences, and contributes to ongoing professional development across divisions. They help execute schoolwide technology goals, promote consistency and shared understanding across the system, and support balanced, research-aligned practices in technology integration.

Technology in this context encompasses digital learning tools, educational platforms, AI, robotics, and data-informed practices and could extend to unplugged technologies such as hands-on maker activities and physical tools.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience

  • Bachelor´s degree and valid teaching certification.
  • Minimum of two years´ classroom teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in integrating educational technology to enhance learning.
  • Subject area expertise through certifications, badges, or academic qualifications.
  • Strong collaboration, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional learning and a growth mindset.

The duties of the position will include but will not be limited to:

Vision and Leadership

  • Collaborate with school leadership to support a shared vision aligned with divisional and schoolwide goals for how technology enhances learning (ISTE: Empowering Leader, Visionary Planner).
  • Promote innovation in instructional practices while ensuring alignment with school philosophy, curricular goals, and strategic planning.
  • Stay informed and current on emerging technologies, instructional trends, and relevant research in digital learning (ISTE: Connected Learner).
  • Contribute to the execution of the FIS strategic plan by supporting schoolwide technology and instructional innovation initiatives.

Collaboration and Instructional Support

  • Work collaboratively with grade-level and departmental teams as a thought partner to design technology-enhanced learning experiences aligned with curricular objectives (ISTE: Collaborator, Learning Designer).
  • Co-plan and co-teach lessons that integrate technology in pedagogically sound, student-centered ways.
  • Assist colleagues in identifying, evaluating, and experimenting with new tools and strategies that support learning goals.
  • Support balanced and purposeful use of technology in classrooms, promoting best practice and helping mitigate overuse or misalignment.

Professional Development and Capacity Building

  • Facilitate and provide targeted professional development opportunities that build educator confidence and competence (ISTE: Professional Learning Facilitator).
  • Evaluate and refine professional learning to meet staff needs and support the schoolwide vision for technology integration.
  • Promote peer collaboration by connecting staff who demonstrate effective practices with technology.

Digital Citizenship and Technology Culture

  • Promote and model respectful, ethical, and balanced use of technology for students, staff, and families (ISTE: Digital Citizen Advocate).
  • Support the development of digital literacy and media fluency, including critical evaluation of online resources.
  • Lead or support initiatives that create authentic opportunities for students and teachers to engage in safe and responsible technology use.

Cross-Divisional Collaboration and System Cohesion

  • Collaborate across all FIS divisions to help ensure consistent opportunities, communication, and support in educational technology.
  • Contribute to cross-divisional initiatives such as building a data-informed culture and integrating responsible use of AI into teaching and learning.
  • Help maintain shared understanding and alignment across the system while supporting innovation and improvement.

Technology Support (as Needed)

  • Serve as an initial contact for basic instructional technology troubleshooting (e.g., classroom platform support such as Canvas, Seesaw, Google Suite).
  • Refer unresolved or complex technical issues to IT Operations via the established ticketing system.
  • Ensure effective communication between instructional needs and IT Operations.

Additional Agreements

  • Active participation in divisional and schoolwide team meetings.
  • Collaboration across divisions to support schoolwide technology initiatives.
  • Consistent availability to support educators and students during the school day.
  • Alignment with school policies, strategic goals, and innovation initiatives.
  • Ongoing reflection and professional growth as part of the FIS Professional Development Program.
  • An instructional load (full teaching responsibility) may be expected depending on division assignment.
