Job Description

LaBella has an immediate opening for a Team Leader in our Municipal Group. Reporting to the Discipline Leader, this position is responsible for leading a team of project managers, design professionals, and technical support staff working with public sector (Municipal and State agency) clients and projects throughout NY. The position is based in our Potsdam, NY office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Project development, client interaction, project management, and technical design primarily for public sector clients (municipal, county, state, and non-profit).
  2. Develop professional services proposals, manage projects and clients, develop technical approaches, and participate in public presentations/engagement processes.
  3. Oversee project design and construction, interfacing with clients and managing project teams, including training and mentoring less experienced staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
  • 15-20 years of practical experience in a professional consulting environment.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in NY is required.
  • Experience in civil/environmental engineering with a focus on municipal/public works and water resources infrastructure.
  • Effective communication skills in oral, graphic, and written forms.
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision and manage workload and budgets.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and work remotely as needed.
  • Strong collaboration skills with teams across disciplines and locations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Public Sector funding (e.g., NYSEFC, NYSDEC, WIIA) is a plus. Training available for grant writing/administration if needed.

Salary Range: ($115,000 - $145,000). The specific salary depends on experience, education, and work location.
