Solutions Architect

We are currently looking for a Solutions Architect to work on a long-term project with an IT Service Provider, based in Germany.

The role involves working on the Automated Provisioning of Patch Management Solutions in a Data Center Environment.

This is a freelance role that can be worked almost fully remotely within Germany, with occasional trips to Bonn.

German fluency is a must.

Description of Services:

• Analysis and evaluation of existing customer requirements for patch management based on the agreed requirements documentation.
• Creation of a unified and automated patch management process (from firmware updates to WEA signatures) for Microsoft products in the respective release cycle, considering customer specifications, including testing.
• Based on customer requirements: creation of architectural solution concepts for the automated provisioning of patch management solutions using tools such as Splunk, Xonitor, SCOM, and Patch.works, as well as the service development frameworks.
• Ensuring compliance with IT security policies and protective measures related to patch management infrastructures, considering the BSI Basic Protection.
• Conducting audits with the corresponding delivery units to ensure that the patch management infrastructures meet business requirements.
• Ensuring cross-departmental consistency and continuity of services (end-to-end) by submitting the architectural concepts and further concept documents to quality gates.

Qualification Requirements:

• Language skills: German: Level C1 and English Level B1 - Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
• Experience with Atlassian products: Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with at least one relevant tool for process modeling with BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) or EPK (Event-driven Process Chain): ARIS, Sparx Enterprise Architecture, or similar.
• Experience in applying at least one relevant architecture framework: TOGAF, NAFv4, ADMBw, TÜV, or similar (resume and/or project reference).
• Knowledge of BSI Basic Protection catalogs: BSI Basic Protection (resume and/or project reference).

Experience Requirements:

• Experience in planning, conceptualizing, and implementing in the field of patch management (at least 5 years).
• Knowledge of Windows Server 2016/2019 (at least 5 years).
• Experience in configuring and fully automated release deployment in at least one of the following patch management and monitoring tools: Splunk, Xonitor, Patch.works (at least 5 years).
• Knowledge of Active Directory (at least 5 years).
• Experience in creating PowerShell scripts for process automation (at least 2 years).
• Experience in installing VMware environments and virtualization using vSphere (at least 5 years).
