Local customer one side fastener engineering support with reporting to Engineering Manager.

You will develop and maintain on-site relationships within Ford plant manufacturing team (PVT), ensuring all fastener related issues for the relevant vehicle program(s) are resolved on time and in line with the customer’s expectations.

You will be a well-organized individual, paying attention to detail in maintaining an orderly workload and able to operate under time pressure constraints where required.

Main duties and responsibilities:

1. Resident at the manufacturing location for Current and New Programme Launch Support.
2. Primary contact for supporting running changes and plant related Fastener issues.
3. Must have an in-depth knowledge of the Fasteners utilised (including commonality and a detailed understanding of assembly processes/tooling etc).
4. Provide Fastener designs & implement complexity controls that minimise the cost effect of engineering changes.
5. Develop and organise test plans at Bulten or sub-suppliers facilities to investigate engineering concerns, or TVM/complexity reduction studies, and provide robust solutions.
6. Detect plant misuse/mis-release of Fasteners prior to potential line-stop situations.
7. Support resolution of concerns or development of new designs by liaison with Ford Fastener engineers and support technical discussions.
8. Coordinate new part drawings and part number requests for all Fastener related changes.
9. Manage drawing release process through Teamcenter as required.
10. Coordinate availability of prototype parts and testing to support changes or functional trials.
11. Liaise with Bulten home based staff to provide Support Plans/Quote One Pagers.
12. Coordinate and report local TVM Status, manage prototype availability and coordinate trials.
13. Ensure an in-depth knowledge is achieved of all Ford systems and processes.
14. Knowledge of and adherence to ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and IATF 16949.
15. Knowledge of and adherence to Bulten Group Health and Safety Policy and procedures.
