UniversalAutomation.org (UAO) is an independent, non-profit organization promoting a common automation layer across systems and suppliers, fostering an ecosystem of portable, interoperable, 'plug and produce' solutions.
Position: Global Account Manager - Vendors (f/m/d)
You will be responsible for achieving UAO’s annual vendor recruiting and offer targets. The ideal candidate is a driven professional eager to transition the automation market towards software-defined automation, improving ROI, operational efficiency, and IT-OT convergence.
Your Impact:
- Own and pursue UAO vendor recruitment goals, embodying SE IMPACT values daily.
- Identify new target vendors proactively to grow the pipeline.
- Follow up systematically and keep the pipeline updated.
- Build trusted relationships at various organizational levels.
- Create tailored closing strategies, negotiate, and close memberships to meet KPIs.
- Coordinate onboarding with Marketing, Vendor Support, and Member Success, supporting vendors from ideation to promotion.
- Attend events for business development and market awareness, engaging with prospects.
- Stay informed on market trends, vendor strategies, and industry news.
- Share insights and ideas with the UAO team.

Job Requirements:
- Technical Degree (Bachelor or Master).
- At least 5 years in automation industry, with experience in ICS, software, solution selling, and account planning.
- Proven ability to build relationships at senior levels and serve as a trusted partner.
- Entrepreneurial, motivated, driven to achieve goals.
- Strategic, critical thinking, growth-oriented mindset.
- Disciplined, systematic, structured work approach.
- Reliable, dependable, team-oriented.
- Resilient and adaptable to complex or stressful situations.
- Excellent English communication skills; German is a plus.
Technical Skills (Must):
- Understanding of computers, operating systems, embedded devices, and software.
- Knowledge of IoT, IIoT, Industry 4.0, Edge Computing.
- Knowledge of ICS architectures and components.
- Familiarity with standards like IEC 61131-3, IEC 61499, OPC UA, MTP, NAMUR.
Technical Skills (Nice to have):
- Experience in engineering/commissioning ICS solutions like SCADA, PLC, DCS.
- Hands-on PLC or DCS programming experience.
- Basic programming skills in high-level languages.
