Junior Experimental Scientist

Your mission

UCANEO is seeking a skilled Experimental Scientist to join our Technical Development Team, contributing to the scaling and optimization of our innovative direct air capture technology. In this hands-on role, you will work closely with our engineers and scientists, assisting with day-to-day laboratory tasks, testing, and prototype development for our DAC technology. You will play a key role in maintaining an efficient and organized lab environment, ensuring that experiments and tests run smoothly.

Key points:

• Assist in setting up and conducting experiments for electrochemical and process development.
• Maintain lab equipment, ensuring everything is calibrated and functioning properly.
• Prepare chemical solutions, handle lab materials, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Collect, record, and analyze experimental data.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists to support prototype development and testing.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with lab safety standards.

Your profile

Skills and Experience:

• Technical diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or relevant certification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience in a laboratory setting.
• Familiarity with basic lab equipment and processes, including preparing solutions and handling chemicals.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Fast learning and quick to grasp complex topics.
• A team player with a hands-on mentality.
• Authentic and reflective self.
• Self-organizer with a structured work style to maintain focus and productivity.
• Good listener and effective communicator in cross-sectional teams.
• Curious and open-minded.
• Valid Work Permit for Germany, or able to obtain a permit.
