Über uns

At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people. Amazon is one of the most recognizable brand names in the world and we distribute millions of products each year to our loyal customers. Our entire business works hard to delight our customers – from the second an order is placed online to the seamless coordination of that order behind the scenes, we strive to stay agile, fluid and intentional. That can be described in one of our core Leadership Principles, which is Bias for Action. This means that our teams band together, roll up their sleeves, and aren’t content with standing still.

Amazon Operations is at the heart of Amazon's business. We are known for our speed, accuracy, and exceptional service. Our buildings deliver tens of thousands of products to hundreds of countries worldwide, every day. In these key roles, you’ll help us exceed productivity goals and deliver on our customer promises. Our scale is expansive and our presence is growing. Our goal is simple: to offer the world’s greatest selection of products and services with the world’s best customer experience. Whatever customers want, Amazon will find the means to deliver it. With your help, Amazon will continue to enable people to discover new worlds and implement innovation. This is your chance to make history.

The Role

Amazon is seeking Site Process Engineers to work in the Process Engineering (PE) team. The site process engineer for this role will be based in an FC (Fulfillment Center). The PE team is a group of operational leaders driving process stabilization, standardization, and continuous improvement for the EU Customer Fulfillment Network. This team is essential to establish best-in-class network performance across all process paths, accelerate implementation of technological advancements, and strengthen the technical acumen and process knowledge for operational leaders across the FC network.

As EU continues to rapidly grow the FC footprint and infuse the organization with new talent, we need to ensure the operations teams are equipped with the functional expertise to successfully deliver expected gains from technology advances and network-wide process improvements. The team will drive process control and shift mean performance to minimize variation between shifts, buildings, and regions, to deliver strong operational performance. The team will work closely with Amazon Customer Excellence Systems (ACES), specifically with Process System Engineering (PSE), ACES PM, launch teams, operations engineering, and reliability and maintenance (RME) teams to improve input metrics for each process path by prioritizing and channeling resources to address gaps.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work on Variation Reduction by identifying top opportunities in the FC compared with other EU FCs, starting from the bottom 50% processes, and implementing improvement action plans following standard templates.
  • Audit execution of standard actions, focusing on overdue SIMs, and highlight top and bottom input metrics daily.
  • Review open SIMs weekly, engage FC stakeholders to complete actions, and close compliance SIMs after three weeks to focus on new opportunities.
  • Use reports and dashboards to validate results and reach targets, generating financial savings based on input metric improvements.
  • Collaborate with regional PEs and other Site PEs to clarify process-related doubts and leverage expertise, with benchmarking initiatives to reduce variation across FCs.
  • Work on Continuous Improvement with FCEU, driving network best practice improvements, capturing and scaling FC innovations, and ensuring big projects are uploaded in the OP1 Project Intake annually.
  • Own deployment of all EU network initiatives assigned to the FC, ensuring timely execution and compliance, supporting test and pilot phases to avoid delays.
  • Partner with FC Ops by joining daily Gemba walks, organizing weekly meetings with FC leadership, and supporting relationship-building to gain trust and buy-in for initiatives. Support ad hoc process tasks from the FC.
  • Support or lead EU Projects to expand scope and coordinate multiple FCs, enhancing project management skills and stakeholder engagement.
  • Travel as needed within your area of responsibility, estimated at 0-10%.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Process Engineering, Quality, Operations, or Logistics.
    • English language proficiency (C1 level).

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Strong experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
    • Knowledge of change management and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Ability to interpret analytics and present to senior leadership.
    • Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to motivate teams.
