Job Description
We are looking for you as Manager M&A Finance (m/f/d) to strengthen our Corporate Controlling team. The METRO Group portfolio is permanently adjusted via M&A transactions, with a strong focus on expanding the FSD business and digitization projects. You will be a valuable member of our small yet dynamic team, operating in an agile environment with high deal flow. Your expertise and knowledge in finance will play a crucial role in supporting METRO’s international transactions.
Your focus will be on diverse and complex finance-related tasks. Here you will make a decisive contribution to the success of our international M&A projects.
- You will manage the financial workstream on M&A projects.
- You will actively coordinate with the M&A, Legal, Tax, Accounting, Controlling, and Treasury departments, as well as the operating units, building a broad network within the Group.
- You will be responsible for the financial due diligence processes, coordinating with external advisors, preparing purchase price mechanisms, and managing the closing accounts process.
- At the same time, you will analyze business plans and valuation models, prepare scenario calculations, and support valuations and PPAs.
- You will assess strategic projects regarding their benefits for METRO's relevant performance indicators and make recommendations for decisions.
- You will forecast the effects of transactions on METRO's key financial indicators and create simulations and integrated financial models.
- You will draft and negotiate relevant sections in SPAs.
Qualifications
YOUR PROFILE:
- You have at least five years of professional experience in a transaction-related environment, such as transaction advisory services within a consulting firm.
- You are familiar with M&A processes and related financial matters (purchase price mechanisms, EV to equity bridge).
- You have a degree in Finance with above-average grades.
- You possess strong analytical skills, enabling you to understand the significance of key figures and their interrelations for METRO, and to derive effective measures.
- You value a holistic approach and cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic, international environment.
- You demonstrate leadership qualities, managing stakeholders and partners even without direct reporting lines.
- You enjoy taking initiative, assuming responsibility, and working independently with high commitment.
- You are fluent in business English; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
