As an Area Manager, you’ll ensure your site runs smoothly to meet customer demand. You will lead a team that maintains safety, efficiency, and high quality, while managing various projects across our network to drive productivity.

Key job responsibilities

  • Create, oversee, and promote a culture of safety and wellbeing
  • Analyze and implement changes to maintain high quality and productivity
  • Manage projects to streamline processes, optimize productivity, and enhance service quality
  • Evaluate shift performance against business objectives and implement improvement actions
  • Collaborate with management colleagues to standardize shift practices

A day in the life

You’ll work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, focusing on productivity, safety, and quality standards. Your day may include routine team management, process improvements, operational contingency tasks, and mentoring new managers.

Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) handles heavy items like furniture and appliances, managing supply chain, delivery, and returns. We focus on safety, productivity, and innovation, expanding our fulfillment centers and delivery stations across the UK and Europe. Our team includes operations, supply chain, business intelligence, and program management professionals, all vital to our growth.

Qualifications

  • A degree
  • Relevant experience in people management
  • Experience communicating with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to use data or anecdotal evidence to influence decisions
  • Proficiency in English and local language

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques
  • Experience in logistics environments
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite
