The Position
Biostatistics and Data Sciences (BDS) is a global organization within the Human Pharma Business Unit. Working in close collaboration with other functions at Boehringer Ingelheim and external vendors, we combine data science skills with scientific expertise to support drug development, approval, and access decisions.
Our goal is to create a learning organization that employs leading-edge data science approaches to actively generate evidence and support decision-making throughout the drug development process.
As part of the global Therapeutic Area and Methodology Statistics team, you will support drug discovery research by providing statistical planning, data transformation, and analytics, including descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analyses.
This position is part-time eligible with 80%
Tasks & responsibilities
- Plan and execute data analytic tasks for non-clinical studies, including experimental design, data analysis, transformation, and reporting, adhering to standards.
- Apply traditional and cutting-edge data science methods to research data.
- Develop insights to inform patient care by creating pragmatic, methodologically sound solutions and data stories.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary scientists and experts.
- Enhance your scientific and business knowledge in a global setting.
- Contribute to a global biostatistics and data sciences organization covering the entire pharma product lifecycle.
Additional tasks and responsibilities for a Principal position
- Lead planning and execution of complex non-clinical data analyses and provide strategic guidance.
- Guide and mentor colleagues and external partners in statistical and data science tasks.
Requirements
- BSc, MSc, or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Experience in statistical methodology, experimental design, and pharmaceutical R&D terminology.
- Proficiency in SAS and R software.
- Hands-on experience supporting pharmaceutical research data analysis.
- Proactive problem-solving and effective communication skills.
- Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
Additional requirements for a Principal position
- Extensive experience with complex non-clinical studies, advanced statistical concepts, and relevant software.
- Project leadership experience and familiarity with agile methodologies.
The level of expertise demonstrated during application and interviews will determine your job level, which may be partially compensated by broad knowledge and experience.
