(Junior) GL Accountant

Department: Finance, Legal, HR & Audit | Experience Level: Experienced | Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Responsibilities:

  1. Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (HGB and IAS/IFRS)
  2. Determination, reconciliation, and posting of prepaid expenses and accruals as well as other items of the general ledger
  3. Monthly reconciliation of various general ledger accounts
  4. Checking posting proposal lists of parked incoming invoices and payment proposal lists for compliance with guidelines
  5. Handling VAT returns & refunds, and statistics for German government
  6. Being the contact person for questions related to accounting according to HGB and IAS/IFRS
  7. Preparing the advance sales tax return
  8. Preparing account reconciliations and integrity checks
  9. Maintaining Accounting Manuals & CoA descriptions & the correct use thereof
  10. Creating statistics and evaluations
  11. Participating in cross-departmental projects
  12. Supporting the Senior Manager of Accounting

Qualifications:

  • Degree in business administration with a focus on accounting and/or commercial education with further training as an accountant (IHK), ideally as an international accountant (IHK)
  • Several years of professional experience in the field
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations according to HGB and IAS/IFRS
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Proficient in SAP/S4 Hana
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
